desert super bloom || mini framed original gouache painting

My extended family is all from the western United States, so I spent most of my summers in the mountains and deserts.  It wasn't until I attended university in the same region that I fully got to experience the change of seasons in the desert.  While most of the year there would be a flush of earthen tones on the open landscape,  for a short while every spring, everything would be the engulfed in verdant greens.  The mountain runoff watered the desert grasses, flowers, and sage to create the most glorious views that would carry us through to the next season.
