the butter kitchen || original watercolor painting

While the original room that inspired this piece was the most gorgeous of utility rooms, my version is quite contentedly functions as a kitchen in my imagination.  Can't you just picture a little bistro table tucked beneath a window for early morning pastries?

My mom had a sweatshirt the same color as these cabinets when I was growing up.  She wore it every morning as she ushered my brother and I out the door, got lunches together, and made us breakfast.  It's a color deeply associated with warmth, love, and hospitality in my mind.
