day trip || original 4.5x6 watercolor landscape
When I lived in Cyprus, Saturdays were reserved for wandering. Driving as far across the island as one could could. It's not a very large island, so going far wasn't much of a feat, but how you got there was the adventure. The mountains were crisscrossed with a multitude of roads that could send you in any direction. And when you don't know how to read the roadsigns very well, the adventure becomes all the more exciting. One day there would be a reservoir, another a taverna that smelled of roasting pork. On other days there would be nothing but pines and then another, you would happen upon the sea. I'd go to bed after those days with a mind full of beautiful views and longing for the next time I would be able to see them.
